Camel in favor by Khalaf Allah Aboud

Khalaf Allah Abboud (Halfullah Aboud, Arabic: خلف الله عبود) was born in the city of Atbara. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Sudan, and worked as an art teacher with a number of secondary schools. He joined the Office of Educational Publishing in 1971 and made many illustrations for schoolbooks, most notably those about Arabic language. He emigrated to Oman in the 1980s, where he became a supervisor of art education. He has contributed comic stories to magazines like Al-sibyan (Boys' Journal), working in collaboration with Hassan Sabahi and Jaffer Mohamed Osman.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
