Mourir, Partir, Revenir - Le Jeu des Hirondelles

Zeina Abirached was born in Beirut in the middle of the civil war. She studied graphic arts in Lebanon, but moved to Paris in 2004, where she attended the National School of Decorative Arts. In 2006, she published her first two graphic novels with publisher Cambourakis, 'Beyrouth-Catharsis' and '38, Rue Youssef Semaani'. Her short animation film 'Mouton' was nominated during the fifth international film festival in Téhéran. Her subsequent graphic novel 'Mourir, Partir, Revenir - Le Jeu des Hirondelles' tells about her experiences during the civil war, when she was a child.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
