Shadow Lady by Gerry Acerno

Gerry Acerno (also credited as Jerry Acerno) graduated in graphic arts from New York City Technical College. He began his career around 1982 with Marvel Comics, doing backgrounds on 'Ghost Rider' and 'Living Monolith' and ink on 'Luke Cage and Iron Fist'. He then became an inker for DC Comics. Acerno has done inking duties on titles like 'All-Star Squadron', 'Arion, Lord of Atlantis', 'Secret Origin', 'Spelljammer', 'Superman' and 'Blue Trinity', and he has also been active in art restoration in the late 1980's. By 1992 he ventured into animation, doing storyboards for D.I.C., Disney and Graz Entertainment. Among his credits are the 'X-Men' animated series and 'Pocahontas 2'.

In 1997 he created 'Shadow Lady' for Image's Big Bang Comics. For this comic feature, he did script, pencils and ink. It is in this comic that he shows his passion for Golden Age comic strips. In recent years, Acerno has been doing cover re-creations and commissions in the "Good Girl" art genre.

Series and books by Gerry Acerno in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
