Founded in 1995, Actus Tragicus is a collective of five comic artists who operate as an independent publishing house based in Tel Aviv, Israel, and have received international acclaim. The various artists are Mira Friedmann, Yirmi Pinkus, Itzik Rennert, Rutu Modan, and Batia Kolton. Many of the Actus Tragicus "graphic novellas" in their Jetlag comics are based on short stories by Etgar Keret, a young Israeli author who has written three best-selling novels translated into several languages. Pick up a copy of Jetlag, or you can check out their cool flash website for more information. |
