The Worm Troll (2013)

Sam Alden is a cartoonist and illustrator from Portland, Oregon, currently living in Montreal. He was the author of the comic book 'Eighth Grade', about three teenagers and their families in the final weeks of middle school, for several years. His comic Haunter was serialized by Study Group Comics. In 2013 he won the Ignatz Award for most promising new talent, and his work has been previously published in 'Best American Comics 2013', from Houghton-Mifflin.

Later works include 'The Worm Troll' (Study Group Comics), 'The Man That Dances In The Meadow', 'It Never Happened Again' (Uncivilized Books), 'The Alpine Biologist' (Floating World Comics) and 'Wicked Chicken Queen' (Retrofit Comics).

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
