Doings of the Duffs, by Walter Allman 1914

Walter Allman was an early American newspaper artist. He created 'Doings of the Duffs', which appeared in the newspapers of W.R. Hearst between 1914 and 1924, when Allman died. The strip was continued by Ben Batsford, and revived by Buford Tune in 1928. It is said that Allman once sent in a month worth of 'Duff' strips, all drawn without any noses. "I just got tired of drawing noses", he said.
