Batman, by Sal Amendola

Sal Amendola was the artist on several Marvel, DC and Archie titles in the 1970s. He started his comics career in 1969, doing stories for Dick Giordano's 'Witching Hour'. At DC, he went on to do coloring, lettering, as well as page headings. He also did artwork on such series as 'Batman', 'Green Arrow', and some 'John Carter of Mars' stories. He cooperated with Curt Swan on the comic adaptation of the third 'Superman' movie. He became Giordano's assistant editor in 1970. Later on, he worked at Sol Harrison and Jack Adler's production department, before he joined Marvel. He soon returned to DC however, where he drew 'Batman' again. He also did some 'Archie' comics, as well as storyboard art. Amendola began teaching at the School of Visual Arts in 1974, and later on at the Joe Kubert School.

Series en boeken door Sal Amendola op voorraad in de Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
