The Dutch cartoonist Dirk Arend was born in Katwijk aan Zee. In 1980 he began his career with the comic 'Jan Hagel' in Het Leidsch Dagblad. His comics, including 'Olivier Flap', were published in the Buijze Persbladen, Happy voor Kids, and Telekids. Since 2001 he draws for Holco publishers and on the Internet. He is head of Striptekenaars.nl, a creative studio that makes comics and other artwork (like puzzles and coloring pictures) for print and digital media. Through this studio he is also a talent scout. |
