Asante was an Egyptian comic artist, mostly active in the 1950s. He was one of the original artists of the comics weekly Samir, which is published by the magazine Dar Al-Hilal since 1956. He mostly made cover illustrations and centre spreads for this magazine. He also made contributions to satirical magazines like Sabah el Kheir (literally translated: "Good Morning"), Rose El Youssef and the variety magazine Al Guil. After the 1950s not much is known about Asante, much like his colleague El Millegui.
