Comic art by Satanasov

Daniel Atanasov is a Bulgarian comic artist, who works under the pen name Satanasov. He has been interested in comics, illustration, animation and art in general since his childhood. During the years he has worked as storyboard artist, freelance illustrator, art director, animator and comic artist for various companies and publishers. He is currently working as a concept artist for Ubisoft Bulgaria.

Bion by Daniel Atanasov

Born in Yambol, he attended the St. Kiril and Metody University in Sofia from 1998 until 2002. Working as a comic book artist since 1999, he has published his manga-inspired work in magazines like Fantasy Factor, DAGA, Egoist, Q-Tech and Djoben Komix. Among his creations are 'Virikonium', 'Bion', 'Bonzai', 'Shaman', 'Element', 'Dragonlast' and the webcomic 'Chisuji'. He also made a short movie based on 'Bonzai' in 2013. He has made illustrations for publishers like Posoki and Barrington Stoke.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
