Cartoon by Guy Badeaux

Guy Badeaux (Bado) is a Canadian cartoonist, born in Montréal. He drew for the alternative comix magazine Baloune, of which seven issues appeared between 1977 and 1978. He has been the editorial cartoonist for the Ottawa daily Le Droit since May 1981. He is a member of the Cartooning for Peace collective as well as the Association of Canadian Editorial Artists. He is the president of the Editorial Cartoon Contest held by the Canadian Comity for Press Freedom since 2002. He was additionally the editor-in-chief of the first 22 editions of 'Portfoolio: The Year’s Best Canadian Editorial Cartoons'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
