Six Chix, by Isabella Bannerman

Isabella Bannerman was born in Buffalo, and spent her formative cartooning years in New York City. Her first work was published in the San Francisco Bay Guardian in 1987. Her work has appeared nationwide in magazines such as The Funny Times, The New York Times, World War 3 Illustrated and Girl Talk. A book of her cartoons, 'Pacifists in Bomber Jackets' was published in 1998. She is one of the six female comic artist who make the newspaper strip 'Six Chix'. Each woman draws the strip on a different day (Isabella on Monday) and they alternate on Sundays. Isabella Bannerman now lives with her husband and two sons in Westchester County, N.Y.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
