Canadian Heroes by Sid Barron

Sid Baron was a Canadian editorial cartoonist and comic artist. Born Sidney Arnold Barron in Toronto, he was a comic book artist during Canada's short-lived comic book industry in the 1940s. He was one of the freelance artists for Educational Projects, the publisher of the didactic comic books like 'Canadian Heroes', that presented profiles of Canadian prime ministers and governors general as well as historical narratives.

He became a full-time cartoonist in his early 40's, working for the Toronto Star for 30 years, since 1961. He also published in papers from Victoria and Calgary. He returned to his original focus, painting, after his retirement and exhibited his work on several occasions. He passed away in Victoria in 2006, at the age of 88.
