Le Cristal Majeur, by Marc Bati

Marc Bati published his first pages in several fanzines while still at college. He made his professional debut in Djin magazine in 1977 with the adventures of 'Paradox le Chat'. Afterwards, he spent several years doing promotional art and comics for some erotic magazines. His meeting with Jean Giraud (Moebius) in 1982 meant his return to the comics field. Together with Moebius, he produced a short story in L'Expansion, followed by 'La Nuit de l'Étoile' in Métal Hurlant. Later on, Moebius wrote the trilogy 'Le Cristal Majeur', which was published at Dargaud publishers. Bati drew the series while living in Tahiti and Bora Bora. Back in France in 1990, Bati started the 'Altor' series, about a young elf, who was also the main character of 'Cristal Majeur'. As a scenarist, he wrote the 'Sylfeline' series for his friend Bruno Bellamy. In 1997 he created a more adult album with Jag, 'Chroniques Originelles', at Soleil publishers.

Series and books by Marc Bati in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
