Francisco Alarcón Bellido is a self-taught comic artist and illustrator from Barcelona. He began his career as an apprentince in the workshop of Intermagen, where he was a technical editor on comics like 'Chucho Larguirucho', 'Canibal' and 'Bichos'. He was also responsible for the technical aspects of Pulgarcito magazine by Ediciones B in the 1980s. He also drew comic series like 'Punki Ghungus' for this magazine, while additionally contriubted to ZipiZape.

He specialized in humorous erotic and pornographic comics during the 1990s while contributing to El Papus, El Cuervo, Hara Kiri, La Judía Vere, El Pacha "G", El Cómic Erótico, Kaña and Manga Comics. His erotic work has been collected in the books 'Vicios Comunes' ('Common Flaws', 1990) and 'Sábanas Sucias' ('Dirty Sheets', 1993).

He is furthermore a bookseller with Perra Cómics in Barcelona, and continues to draw comics and illustrations for El Barragán and Penthouse Comix.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
