Jordi Bernet made his debut when he was only fifteen, taking over the humorous series 'Dona Urraca' from his father, Miguel Bernet (alias Jorge), who died in 1960. Jordi developed a realistic style from 1962, and started working for extensively for the foreign market (Italy, England, the US, etc.). With only his first name as a pseudonym, he illustrated several series in Spirou magazine from 1968 to 1976 ('Dan Lacombe' with scenarist Miguel Cusso and 'Paul Foran' with scenarist José Larraz). With Cusso he also worked for the German market, with 'Wat 69' in Pip and 'Andrax' in Primo.

It was not until 1982, however, that he made his claim to fame by taking over the series 'Torpedo' from Alex Toth in the Spanish Creepy magazine. With writer Antonio Segura, he launched 'Sarvan' in Cimoc in 1984 and 'Kraken' in Metropol. Bernet has also worked with the scenartist Carlos Trillo on such comics as 'Light and Bold' and 'Ivanpiire'.

After a disagreement with his French publisher, he started to focus on the Italian and Spanish market. With his friend and scenario-writer Enrique Abuli, he launched the magazine Luca Torelli es Torpedo in May 1991. While still working on the successful 'Torpedo' series, Bernet took on three albums of 'Clara de Noche' from 1993 to 1995 (text by Trillo). Bernet has proven himself to be one of the masters of realistic comics, and has developed a very personal, fast and expressive style.
