Nico Jan Marie Blans was a Dutch illustrator, who has born in Heemstede and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. He had several initial jobs, such as designer, decorator, exhibition builder and graphic artist.
He was a member of the Pulchri Studio, and worked as a photographer, painter and sculptor. As a comic artist, he was present in the ANWB youth magazine Jeugdkampioen, with the educational nature comic 'Kees Kampioen' (around 1950) and gag strips.
