Les Aberrants, by Bodart

Denis Bodart studied at the Saint-Luc in Brussels, and then began a shortlived career as a teacher. He soon turned to comics and made his comic debut in 1985 with 'Saint-Germaine des Morts', a comic scripted by Streng at the publishing house Bédéscope. Three years later, he teamed up with Yann, with whom he created series like 'Célestin Speculoos' in Circus and 'Nicotine Goudron' in l'Écho des Savanes, as well as one episode of 'Chaminou', a series originally created by Raymond Macherot.

From 1995, Bodart made an occasional appearance in Spirou with several short stories and gag pages. He experimented with several genres in albums like the science fiction story 'Les Aberrants' (script by Lamquet) and 'F1 93: Prost-Senns, le Défi' (script by Froissart). In the late 1990s, he started the series 'Green Manor Club' with Fabien Vehlmann in Spirou. In 2003, he succeeded Jean-Maire Beuriot as the artist of 'Amours Fragiles' at Casterman.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
