June Brigman

June Brigman was born in Atlanta in 1960. She studied art at the University of Georgia and Georgia State University. She started her comics career working for Marvel, where she created the 'Power Pack' series. She moved to DC Comics, where she worked on 'Supergirl' and 'Barbie', and then did 'Star Wars' for Dark Horse Comics.

For National Geographic magazine, she drew the comic 'Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?'. Together with writer Mary Schmich, she took over the 'Brenda Starr' newspaper strip in 1996, which was originally created by Dale Messick.
