Arsène Brivot was born in Saint-Jean-de-Losne, and studied at the Fine Arts in Dijon. Brivot, who also signed with Arvot, Brisène, Brizène and Arguitt, became an illustrator for Le Pélican in 1922. In that same year, he collaborated with Le Canard Enchaîné, Le Rire and L'Auto. He was present in L'Almanach Vermot, Fantasio and Marius, and drew comics for Le Bon-Point (1930), Guignol (1931), Bayard (1936) and Jean-Pierre (1939).

He made comic albums like 'Jojo Richissime' (Ed. Prima, 1930), 'Flic et Flac gosses modernes' (Ed. Taillandier, 1930) and 'Les Aventures extraordinaires du Docteur Plouc' (Ed. Durassié & Cie, 1935). After World War II, Brivot joined the magazine L'Humour and became its editor-in-chief in January 1949. In addition, he contributed to Ridendo (1949), Le Pèlerin (1950), Boléro (1953), Aux Écoutes (1958) and Le Nouveau Candide (1966). He presumably passed away in the late 1970s.
