Chris Browne was born in South Orange, New Jersey as the son of the famous comic artist Dik Browne. Chris followed in his father's footsteps and became a comic artist himself. He started out assisting his father on 'Hi and Lois' and 'Hagar the Horrible'. He helped his father with the writing of 'Hagar' gags from the series' launch in 1972.
