Eric Buchshacher made his first comics for several fanzines after his studies in fine arts. Because he found his last name quite unpronounceable, he chose the pseudonym Buche. He was inspired by his military service to create his first long story: 'Carapaces'. This comic, about a young pacifistic and philosophical soldier, was published at Essai.

He continued with two stories of the series 'Hélène Cartier', with scenarios by Christian Perrissin, for Humanos. After several illustrations, posters and advertising illustrations, Buch turned to realistic comics in 1997. That year he created the first volume of the 'Enquêtes de Vincent Muraz'. At the same time, Buche cooperates on the magazine Tcho! with the humorous series 'Franky Snow'. For that same magazine, he makes a series of popstar parodies, called 'Starniouzes'.

Series and books by Eric Buche in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
