German Butze Oliver studied painting and drawing at the San Carlos Academy in Mexico. After his studies, he worked for the painter Ignacio Rocas for a while. He then turned to advertisement illustration. His first comic pages, 'Memo Migaja' and 'Pinto Pinole', appeared in the mid-1930s. In 1936 he started his most famous creation, 'Los Supersabios' in Novedades magazine. This daily strip was soon followed by a Sunday page. From then on, Butze focused mainly on his successful series, which also appeared in several magazines. Along with Herrerias publishers, Butze launched a magazine of the same name in the 1970s. |
