After graduating from high school in 1990, Leonard Cachola attended the University of Houston, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in studio art. Cachola's first two comic strips were 'Strange News', which ran from 1992 until 1996 in the University of Houston's The Daily Cougar, and 'Extra Pepperoni', which had a short run in late 1996 and was based on his experiences working as a pizza delivery driver. In the summer of 1998, after returning from three months of travelling through Europe and the Philippines, he moved to Los Angeles. There, on the 14th of February 2000, he created 'Innies and Outties', which features the characters of Otis and Iris, a pair of eight year old latchkey kids who are neighbors in the suburbs in the southern US.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
