Koen (Jippo #1, 15-2-08)

Hans van de Meulengraaf (ckoe) was born on a farm in Best. He graduated from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 2003, and published his first comics in his own punkzine Hades' World. Between 2002 and 2005 he worked on 'Itching Hands', a series of short animation films that have been shown on the web, MTV and mobile phones. He has published his comics in the magazines De Stripper, Incognito, Zone 5300, CJP Magazines, Farfelu, 800*600, the Lowlands paper Daily Paradise and Plots. His comic 'Uier' has been collected in several books by Bries.

Together with Herman Roozen, he made the photo comic 'Koen' for the Malmberg magazine Jippo, and 'Ruimte-piraat Rick' for Okki. He plays with a band called Ckoe & the Bunny Bonanza's and he also goes on stage with Floor de Goede and DJ Pinipini as Stripjock (live drawing and music). He is an editor of Zone 5300.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
