Claude Voirriot is a self-taught comic artist. He works under the pen name Clod and has published his first book, 'La Tonne' with Amicale des amis in 1997 (script by Serge Guerinet). He draws his inspiration from literary writers like Kafka, whose 'Le Procès' he has also adapted to the comics format with Céka (Akileos, 2006). With the same writer, he has subsequently made the Edgar Allen Poe adaptation 'Double assassinat dans la rue Morgue' (Akileos, 2007)

For Petit à Petit, he has participated in colletive books with comic adaptations of poems and songtexts by Prévert, Baudelaire, Verlaine, Guy de Maupassant, Serge Gainsbourg and Rimbaud, among other writers. With Benoît Frébourg, he has made 'Les Carnets de Georg Weiss', also for Petit à Petit.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
