Captain Canuck, by Richard Comely

Richard Comely was born in Radcliffe, England in 1950. He moved to Canada with his family when he was still young. He started his professional career in comics while he was a teenager, and launched 'Captain Canuck', Canada's best-known national superhero comic, in 1975 through his own publishing house Comely Comix. He had created the character together with Ron Leishman, and later it was taken over by CKR Productions. The comic series ran until 1981, and was drawn and written by a team of artists, including George Freeman. After 'Captain Canuck', Richard Comely created 'Star Rider and the Peace Machine' in 1982. Since then, he has been active as an illustrator, designer, video-producer and lecturer. 'Captain Canuck' came back briefly in the mid-1990s, and the hero was honored by his own stamp in 1995.
