Cor Versteeg was born in Utrecht. He began his career as an advertising artist for Douwe Egberts and De Gruyter. In 1955, he made 'Kareltje Kloek en de Multihoed' with Frits Verhorst in Utrechts Katholiek Dagblad. He also made 'Mies Helena' for Het Blad voor de Huisvrouw and 'Julius Hofnar' in Taptoe. His comic 'Kabouter Krikmik', which he made with René Cooijmans, was published in album. Versteeg has also done political illustrations. As a musician, he and his group Passe Partout had a hit with the song 'De Doodgewoonste Dingen' in 1977.
