Barnabé, by Philippe Coudray

Philippe Coudray, born in Bordeaux, began his career in 1989 in the magazine Psikopat. He made most of his comics in collaboration with his brother and scenario writer, Jean-Luc Coudray. Together they created the 'Drôles' collection, which contains several works, including 'Drôles de Manchots,' 'Drôles de Chats,' and 'Drôles de Sangliers'. Another comic the two brothers have made was 'Théocrite,' of which two issues appeared from 1991 to 1993. On his own, Philippe Coudray has created four albums of the children's series 'L'Ours Barnabé.' Coudray's work has also appeared in the magazines Fripounet and Perlin. In 2000, l'Association published his album 'Loin de Tout,' which contained surreal gags that originally appeared in Psikopat.

Series and books by Philippe Coudray in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
