Andrew Currie began his career in the late 1980s, drawing 'Stormwatcher' for Acme Press and Harrier Comics. In the 1990s, he worked for 2000 AD. He drew 'Body Snatchers' for Crisis! and worked on stories with 'Judge Dredd' and 'Tharg's Terror Tales' in 2000 AD, as well as 'The Inspectre' and 'Judge Dredd' in the Judge Dredd Megazine. He was also present at Marvel, with artwork on 'Avengers West Coast', 'Captain America and Nick Fury', 'Iron Man', 'The Punisher', 'Star Trek' and 'Super Soldiers'. On Acclaim's Valiant imprint, he has drawn 'Ninjak' in 1994-95. Currie worked as an inker over Zander Cannon's pencils on Alan Moore's 'Smax' miniseries for America's Best Comics, and over Bryan Hitch's pencils on 'Ultimates' at Marvel.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
