Hugo D'Adderio was born in Rosario de Santa Fe, and attended the National School of Plastic Arts. He began his career as an illustrator in the Argentine capital at the age 17. D'Adderio was a very productive artist for the publications of Editorial Columba. He illustrated a great many covers, among others for the serials 'Fabian Leyes' and 'Fantasía', and he was a contributor to the magazine Intervalo. With writer Jorge Claudio Morhain, he created the character 'Poncho Muerto'.
In Europe, his horror comics were printed in the German magazine Gespenster Geschichten, published by Bastei Verlag. He was one of the founding members of the Asociación de Dibujantes de la Argentina, and was additionally active as an illustrator for other publishers, such as Ediciones Selectas. He has done illustrations for Shakespeare books like 'King's Lear' and 'Hamlet', as well as Rostand's 'Cyrano de Bergerac'.
