Arcane Majeur, by Damien

After obtaining his degree in Graphic Arts, Damien Jacob worked at an advertising agency specialized in pharmaceutical products for one year. Not satisfied with the job, he enrolled in the Saint-Luc Institute in Brussels for six months, and then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Angoulême for three years. During his studies, he published his first comic book, 'La Meute', with the publishing house Le Cycliste in 1996. He then began an association with the publishing house Delcourt and the scriptwriter Jean-Pierre Pécau and drew the series 'Les Fées Noires' (1999-2001), 'Arcane Majeur' (2003-2008) and 'Une brève histoire de l'avenir' (2008-2012). He also participated in Pécau's collective project 'Jour J', for which he drew the eighth installment in 2011.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
