Julio Martínez Pérez, better known as Das Pastoras, published his first work in the Zero fanzine. Later on, he joined the agency of Josep Toutain, working for Comix Internacional and Zone 84. He has also worked for such Spanish magazines as El Víbora, Madriz, Cimoc, Más Madera and Europa Viva. In the late 1990s, he published mainly in Jueves, where made short strips and the 'Kafre' series with writer Abulí. Afterwards, he began the 'Los Heresiarcas' series with Portela.
