Ángel De la Calle published his first comics during the second half of the 1970s. They appeared in Spanish underground comix and in magazine Star. In the 1980s he published a few occasional short stories in adult magazines Bésame Mucho, Rambla, Rampa Rambla, Comix Internacional and El Víbora. From the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s he hardly published any new comics although a few of his works were reprinted in Zona 84 or in foreign publications like Heavy Metal and Fantastik. Therefore he mainly worked on advertising, illustration, graphic design and story boards until he created 'Mar y Mari' for the summer supplement of newspaper La Nueva España in 1996. |
