José De Lemos was a Portuguese comic artist who became the responsible for the Página Infantil of Diário Popular in 1931. He began a long collaboration with this magazine, filling the Página Infantil with personal and poetic material. Before this, he had a brief appearance in Semana Illustrada with the detective-dog 'Fox'. His comics were also published in O Papagaio. Lemos's artwork had a similar appearance to the work of his contemporary, Tom. His style was characterized by its two-dimensional look, which was deprived of perspective.
