Chaabi by Xavier Delaporte

Xavier Delaporte is a comic book artist from Savoy. He worked in a postal office for 17 years, while filling his spare time with drawing and self-publishing his first amateur comic book. He was already 40 when he was encouraged by Franck Biancarelli and Richard Marazano to become a professional comic artist. His first series was, 'Chaabi', an adventure trilogy set in the North of India, which was written by Marazano and published by Futuropolis between 2007 and 2011. In 2012, he was also the artist of the second installment in the series 'La Lignée', that is written by Damien Marie, Olivier Berlion, Jérôme Félix and Laurent Galandon for Bamboo.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
