Début de Siècle

Emmanuel Delente is a French comic artist, orginally from Flers, a town in Lower Normandy. He studied Plastic Arts near the coastline of Caen. His first comic book credit was his contribution to a collective book about soccer violence. An avid musician and ecologist, he also contributed to L'Éprouvette, a satirical comics magazine published by L'Association in 2006. He worked with scriptwriter Jean-François Miniac on the children's comic 'L'Arche de Zoé', of which Des Ronds dans l'O published two books in 2006 and 2008. In 2012 he made the adult humour book 'Début de siècle' in cooperation with Monsieur le Chien for Éditions La Cafetière.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
