Der Dämonenmacher (Gespenster Geschichten Spezial #94)

Demetrio Sánchez Gómez was born in Pilar de la Horadada, Murcia, and began his career working for the children's supplement Idealidad. He has worked as the inker of Jordi Franch and of Fuentes Man on 'El Hijo de Tarzán'. In the 1960s he furthermore made series like 'La Conquista de la Luna' in Información and 'Grago' in La Verdad. He was also present at publishers like Bernabéu and Dalmau Socias with comics like 'Agente Secreto del CIA' and 'Tumac'.

He has worked extensively for the foreign market. For the American publisher Charlton he has illustrated romance, war, ghost and western stories through the Union Studio. His work has also appeared in Gespenster Geschichten in Germany (Bastei Verlag). From the 1990s he has mainly worked for the British market.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
