Born in Villacidro, Paolo Deplano enrolled at the International Comics School of Florence in 2001. Shortly after graduating in 2004, he participated in the artwork of 'My Earth' for Italy Comics. In the following years he contributed stories to catalogues and anthologies like ComicsWave and Killer Elite, and participated in a variety of comics manifestations.

He was an assistant in Juanjo Guarnido's atelier in 2006, while commencing a collaboration with the French scriptwriter Nicolas Jarry for the heroic fantasy series 'Les Exilés d'Asceltis', of which Soleil published the first installment in the following year. Deplano and Jarry subsequently created the humorous series 'Un coin de ciel bleu' for Delcourt, as well as 'Nains!' for Soleil, in 2010. Deplano is also affiliated with Studio InkLink in Florence.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
