Vincent Deporter was born in Nivelles, Belgium, but spent most of his childhood in Toronto, Canada. He returned to Europe in 1973 (Fréjus, France) and started his comics career assisting Jean Graton on his series in 1978.
Starting in 1984, he made the weekly 'Roméo' strip with Philippe Rive for the women's magazine Maxi for many years. In 1987, he was present in Spirou with the absurd gag series 'Crazy Planet', which was followed by 'Les Fourmidables' in the 1990s. He signed these comics Mike Deporter.
He then did the official album for 'Un Indien dans la Ville' with Thierry Lhermitte, while he also worked on the storyboards of the movie. Vince Deporter settled in New York in 1996, where he works regularly for DC Comics ('Batman', 'Superman', 'Scooby Doo') and MTV/Nickelodeon ('Les Razmoquettes', 'La Famille Jungle', 'Spongebob Squarepants').
