Floro Dery, an extraordinary artist from the Philippines, is a modern Renaissance Man. Aside from being a painter, he is also a comics illustrator who illustrated the syndicated Sunday 'Spider-Man' from 1982 to 1992. He is also a designer. Two of his older fantasy designs, which were notably exceptional, were 'The Pirates of Dark Water' and 'Wildfire'. He was also the original concept designer of 'The Transformers, the Movie' and the toys associated with it.
Dery was a former professor at the Philippine Military Academy, and holds three degrees including a Ph.D. in mathematics. His range of interests is varied, including physics, philosophy, and religion, to name a few. Presently, he is involved in the development, design, and storyboard of theatrical and video animation features and television series, and resides with his wife and daughter in Los Angeles, California.
