René Detire was an artist of horizontal comic strips for the French dialy press. With scriptwriter Marc Andry, he made adaptations of the work of Guy de Maupassant for France-Soir, including stories like 'Bel Ami' (1952), 'Pierre et Jean' (1953), 'Une Vie' (1956), 'Mont-Oriol' (1957), 'Notre Coeur' (1958), and 'Fort Comme la Mort' (1961). In addition, they produced 'Réssurection' (1954), based on the work of Leon Tolstoi. |
