Reinder Dijkhuis worked as a web designer for a software firm, and has been making comics in the Dutch small-press scene since the 1990s. He studied English at the University of Groningen, where he also edited the student newspaper. Over the years, he published several hundred pages of material in small photocopied magazines and on the internet (like the 'Chronicles of the Witch Queen' website).

In the mid 1990s he edited the amateur comics magazine Impuls. Among his creations are 'Courtly Manners' and 'Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan' (1991). He was also present in magazine Hello You! with his 'Gang of 4' comic. He shares a studio with cartoonist Jeroen Jager in Groningen, and also has a dayjob as a translator.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
