Richard Dimartino worked at an animation studio for two and a half year as a story-board artist. There, he worked together with Bruno Bessadi. Eventually, Dimartino and Bessadi turned to comics, cooperating on the fanzine Kérozène and founding the Zarma studios. He created the series 'Malek Sliman'. After meeting the scenarist Bruno Falba at a festival, he further developed this series, that appears at Vents d'Ouest from 2000. In 2004, he began the series 'Outre Tombe' with scriptwriter Jean and Simon Léturgie.
