Peter Dittrich is a German illustrator, cartoonist and comic artist. Born in Teplitz-Schönau in the Czech republic, he and his family moved to Dresden in 1940s. After World War II, he studied both at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden and the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee. He began his career in 1952, working as an illustrator for DDR publishers Frischen Wind and Eulenspiegel. In 1974 he drew the comic story 'Aus 25 Jahren', that appeared in Das Magazin.
Dittrich is known for his accurate drawings of war machines and his apocalyptic pictures of mankind's future. Unfairness, stupidity and capitalism were the main targets of his satirical work.
