During this period, he also did 3 issues of 'Judge Dredd', 'Legends of the Law' and an issue of 'The Demon' for DC, Hilary Robinson's 'Melissande' for Mindbenders and a lot of wildlife illustrations. Then came a period of commercial work for clients such as Eagle Star and Polydor Records followed. Dobbyn was eventually assigned to work for Fleetway's 'Sonic the Comic', mainly on 'Knuckles', with Nigel Kitching. After a brief stint writing and drawing the 'Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles' for the BBC's FBX magazine he started work on Dark Horse's 'Digimon' comic.

Dobbyn has subsequently done a strip for the Games Workshop's Inferno, a number of 'Power Rangers' strips for Panini's Fox Kids Wickid magazine, and 'Billy the Cat' for the Beano. He has also produced illustrations for 'My Little Pony', 'Mr. Bean's Amazing A-Z', 'Angelina's Fairy Tales' and for 'Scooby Doo' for DeAgostini.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
