The Great Green Mouse Disaster

Philippe Dupasquier is an author and illustrator of children's books. He was born in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, but he went to art school in Lyon, France from 1976 to 1979. He then became a freelance illustrator in London, England. He has published several books with Walker Books, such as 'The Airport', 'Dear Daddy', 'The Factory', etc. He also illustrated Anne Fine's 'Bill's New Frock' in 1989.

Together with Martin Waddell he created the large picture book 'The Great Green Mouse Disaster' for Andersen Press in London in 1981. In this picture book, the comic panels are constructed as rooms in the hotel and each page gives a further accounts of the events as the result of a troupe of escaping performing mice that wreak havoc all over the hotel.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
