Steven Dupré was born in Flanders. He studied plastic arts in Antwerp and did illustration work for the Flemmish Comics Centre (Vlaams Stripcentrum) from the early 1980s. In 1986, he cooperated on the collective album 'Cynisme en Sarcasme' of the publishing house Clumzy, and contributed 'Romeo's Kustperikelen' to Scriptoria's Zee-Zon-Zand-Stripboek. He then went to work for the Flemmish press under the pseudonym Dust, doing the daily comic about the viking 'Wolf' in the newspapers Het Volk and Het Laatste Nieuws for six and a half years.
In 1993, he created the semi-realistic series 'Sarah en Robin' for Suske en Wiske Weekblad at Standaard Uitgeverij. This series, about a girl and her invicible playmate, was published in albums starting in 1996. In addition, he assisted Jan Bosschaert on the inking of several albums in the series 'Sam'. In 1994, Dupré illustrated a local comic about the history of the town Courtrai. He eventually turned to animation and became character designer and lay-out artist. He continued his comics activities with the fantasy series 'Coma' at the publishing house Glénat in 2002. In 2005, he illustrated the episode 'La Gourmandise' in the 'Pandora Box' series of the publishing house Dupuis.
