Lucie Durbiano is a French illustrator, born in Castelsarrasin. She grew up in the South of France and attended the Villa Arson art school in Nice for a year, before studying Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. She started working as a children's book illustrator since 1999. The first was 'La Bise du Renne', and this was followed by the series 'Lulu Grenadine' (by Laurence Gillot), an adaptation of 'Hansel et Gretel' and the educational book 'N'Oublie Pas de Voter!'.

She also created the educational children's book series 'Mastic' for the publishing house Tourbillon. She has contributed to magazines like Pomme d'Api, Tobogan and Astrapi. She made her debut as a comic artist in 2001, contributing a story to the collective 'Tohu Revue' by Les Humanoïdes Associés. Les Requins Marteaux published her first comic books 'Laurence' and 'Bizou' in 2004. This was followed by the more adult oriented books 'Orage et Désespoir' (2006), 'Le Rouge Vous Va Si Bien' (2007) and the Angoulême-nominated 'Trésor' (2009) at Gallimard.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
