Janet Jones

Stéphane Duval was born in Rennes. He decided to become a comic artist after winning a short apprenticeship in François Bourgeon's atelier in a contest held by the daily newspaper Ouest-France. His first comic stories were published in the the Breton fanzine Atchoum in 1988 and 1989. He met fairytale writer and scenarist Pierre Dubois in a bar, with whom he created the fantasy comic 'Les Lutins' (1993-1997) and the historical diptych 'Red Caps' (1998) for Delcourt. Subsequently, the Breton artist a cooperation with Dieter, which resulted in the western series 'Janet Jones, photographe', of which Delcourt published three books between 1999 and 2001.

Les Lutins

Duval returned to heroic fantasy between 2002 and 2005 with the series 'Chevalier Malheur' in cooperation with Pascal Bertho. Duval and Bertho then turned to Dupuis for the creation of the adventure serial 'Aëla' in the Repérages collection in 2006. The same publisher released the first book of 'Gitans des mers', Duval's new series with Philippe Bonifay in 2010.
